About this site
This site was set up to share my research into plant biosecurity and Pest Risk Analysis (PRA). You can learn more about the process of PRA here. I also have a blog, Tuff on Pests, where I write about plant health news and policy developments.
About Me
My background is in plant pathology, with a PhD in molecular plant pathology from the University of Nottingham. I spent nearly 4 years at Defra working in plant health, particularly on pest risk analysis and the UK Plant Health Risk Register. I then spent 17 months as a researcher at Teagasc in Ireland, working on a project to identify potential pest threats to Sitka spruce. You can find my full CV here.
