Life as a Wikipedia Editor

I enjoy editing Wikipedia, though I don’t have as much time as I would like to! I am creating this page to both share the articles I’ve made major contributions to, and also hopefully encourage others to take up editing. My username is M G Tuffen there as well.

Wikipedia has a known gender bias issue, as most editors are men and the majority of biography articles are also of men. So as well as contributing to areas where I have expertise, I also try to expand or create articles for notable women.

Some plant health related articles I have created or made major contributions to. Some are very long, some are just basic with the hopes other editors will expand on them:

Cacopsylla melanoneura – a psylid that spreads Ca. Phytoplasma mali

Physokermes – a genus of scale insects

Tomato brown rugose fruit virus – a tomato virus first described in 2015 that can leave fruit unmarketable

Phytoplasma – page covering phytoplasmas

Tetropium fuscum – the brown spruce longhorn beetle

Aphis nerii oleander aphid
